It is produced using a complex manufacturing process, mixed with high-proof alcohol, and stored in tanks for several months for clarification and flavor enhancement. Bärenfang contains only natural ingredients, with no added flavorings. Bärenfang can be enjoyed neat, over ice cream, or mixed in hot tea, as honey grog, or with milk. Stichpimpuli bockforcelorum is an extraordinary liqueur both in taste and appearance. This 35% liqueur from the monastery distillery at Kloster Walkenried is said to have wondrous qualities.The name Stichpimpuli is derived from some of the key ingredients of this liqueur: Stichos comes from Greek and means "large quantity"—in this case, referring to a large amount of herbal extracts. Pimpernelle is a herb also found in Goethe’s famous “Green Sauce.” Pulque is nothing other than the sap of the agave plant. Additionally, the liqueur contains lovage, a herb familiar from our kitchens, and aloe.Only this much is revealed: over twenty herbal essences and delicate cherry notes create the unique aroma!

In 1877, distiller Peter Weidmann surprised the citizens of Celle and the Lüneburg Heath with his fiery and spicy Ratzeputz.
