In 1895, Gottlieb Vetter zu Wunsiedel created the recipe for Sechsämtertropfen. Since then, it has been made according to the original recipe. The secret of its taste lies in the extracts of herbs, berries, and roots from the Fichtelgebirge mountain range. Sechsämtertropfen has a distinctive spicy-bitter flavor.

For an entire generation in Germany during the 1960s, whisky was synonymous with Racke Rauchzart, the pioneer of the German whisky market.
