Das Zuckerrohr wird direkt in der Karibik geerntet, fermentiert und destilliert.  Ein brauner Rum erhält einen großen Anteil seiner Aromen und die dunkle Färbung unter anderem durch die Lagerung und Reifung in Eichenholzfässern, die häufig zuvor für Whiskeys oder Cognacs Reifung eingesetzt wurden. Ron Tectón Añejo eignet sich bestens für Cocktails, Londrinks und Mixgetränke.
