Jose Cuervo Especial Silver ist ein Original Tequila aus Mexiko, der mit weichen und würzigen Noten von feiner Agave und schwarzem Pfeffer begeistert. Dabei umspielt dieser mexikanische Tequila den Gaumen mit einer Balance aus Süße und Säure. Mit seinen 35 % Vol. Alkohol eignet sich der weiße Tequila ideal als Shot, für Margaritas oder für verschiedene Mischgetränke.
Grundlage dieser edlen Spirituose bilden die Piñas der blauen Weber-Agave. Eine Piña ist das Herzstück der Agave und wird bei 60 - 85°C für 24 - 36 Stunden in Öfen unter Dampf gegart. Hierbei wandelt sich die Stärke der Agave in Zucker um. Dieser Zucker wird aus der Pflanze gelöst und mit Wasser und Hefe zur Gärung gebracht. Die vergorene Masse wird nun in einer Kupferbrennblase zweifach destilliert.
Jose Cuervo ist der meistverkaufte Tequila der Welt und stammt aus der ältesten noch betriebenen Destillerie Lateinamerikas. Deren Wurzeln reichen bis ins Jahr 1758 zurück, als Jose Antonio de Cuervo vom spanischen König ein Stück Land im mexikanischen Bundesstaat Jalisco erhielt, um dort Agaven zu kultivieren. 1795 bekam die Familie die offizielle Lizenz zum Brennen von Tequila und auch elf Generationen später liegt die Produktion noch immer in Familienhand. Jose Cuervo ist unumstrittener Marktführer auf dem mexikanischen Heimatmarkt und wird in über 100 Länder exportiert.
